REVIEW - NYX Eyeshadow Base in White

I discovered this NYX product one Sunday afternoon in a very extensive NYX Cosmetics display. I had only ever seen NYX in a small section at one of the local pharmacies, so I was pretty eager to check out some more of their products.

I have used and was very happy with the Jumbo Eyeshadow Pencils, and always wanted to try the Milk as a staple white base to pop some of my more colourful eyeshadow looks. Naturally, that was the one shade that was sold out that day. In any case, I did see this white base as an alternative and decided to give it a try.

The application was not as nice as I wanted it to be. On a hydrated eye area (eye cream and a bit of tinted moisturizer), this tugged at my eye when I was applying it with my finger. I thought it wouldn't considering my finger warmed the product a bit. I don't want an emollient type product pulling at such a delicate area. Strike one.

To avoid creasing, I applied a moderately conservative amount of the base but enough to cover my entire lid efficiently. I used a series of green eyeshadows that I love and have used many times before over top of the primer. It left the shadows looking chalky and not as vivid as I expected. Strike two.

After finishing up my makeup, I went out for a few hours before coming home to check up on the status of my eyeshadow. I was incredibly disappointed in the amount of creasing I had. It couldn't even hold out for TWO hours...not good at all. Like I said, I was pretty conservative with the amount of product I used, so tisk tisk. Strike three.

Granted, the base only cost me $6 but I won't repurchase this and I would've rather spent that money on a Starbucks latte or something.

I'll stick to using a white kajal pencil smudged on my lid instead.

Wow if it didn't hold up for you it certainly would not hold up on me. Thanks for the review!

Thanks for the review... its a shame when a normally great company, especially a budget one, makes something crappy.
